Using a digital machine and a natural saline solution called Li-FT, the solution is implanted over existing permanent makeup or small tattoos. The saline solution used is a safe, high content salt and fruit seed extract solution that deems extremely effective in pigment lightening and removal. Implanting the solution into the skin breaks up the healed pigment and this process lifts the pigment out of the skin via osmosis. As pigment rises to the surface a scab will form and will fall off as the removal area heals, thus revealing a lightened tattoo.
How many sessions are needed?
There are different factors that contribute to how many sessions are needed. In some cases, one session can remove a tattoo, but in most cases a few sessions are required for complete removal. After your first session has been completed and the area healed, there will be a clearer indication how many sessions are necessary. For some clients it may be a case of lightening the tattoo to a point that it can then be colour corrected with a new pigment colour or modifier. Or the aim may be to correct the shape by removing just part of the tattoo. All of these options can be talked over in a consultation.
AFTERCARE
1. Please avoid contact with the brow area directly with hands that not been throughly washed.
2. For several hours and in some instances longer, the wound will ooze body fluids. These fluids can be blotted off by applying pressure ( no rubbing) with a slightly moist tissue.
3. Avoid fragrance, acid ingredient products.
4. While showering, turn your back to the shower spray and gently blot off any moisture with a tissue.

Treatment Prepare & Aftercare
The Prep: You will get much better results when you properly prep. The eyebrow area must be healthy, strong, non-sensitive and non-irritated. Here’s how to get your skin ready for the procedure.
- Do not pick/tweeze/wax/perform electrolysis one week before procedure
- Do not tan two weeks prior or have sunburned face
- Do not have any type of facial/peel 2 weeks prior to treatment
- Discontinue Vitamin A/Retinol products one month prior to treatment
- Do not work out the day of the procedure.
- Do not have botox 3 weeks prior
- Do not take Fish Oil or Vitamin E one week prior (natural blood thinners)
- Do not wax or tint your eyebrows 3 days before the procedure.
In order to avoid excessive bleeding and poor color deposit:
- Do not drink alcohol 24 – 48 hours before your tattoo
- Do not consume coffee before your procedure
- Do not take an aspirin or ibuprofen for pain relief (this thins the blood)
The day of the treatment: Absorb
30 Minutes After Treatment
* Gently dab freshly tattooed area with a damp cotton pad or lightly splash face with lukewarm water and pat dry, to remove all the lymph and previously applied cream (always wash hands first!). Removing this fluid prevents hardening of the lymph.Repeat process every 30 min for 2 hours. After 2 hours, apply TINY Aftercare cream (for both brows)
Days 1-7: Wash
Wash daily to remove bacteria and dead skin. (Don’t worry….THIS DOES NOT REMOVE THE PIGMENT!)
Gently wash your eyebrows each morning and night with water and an antibacterial soap like Dial Soap, Cetaphil or Neutrogena. With a very light touch, use your fingertips to gently cleanse the eyebrows. Rub the area in a smooth motion for 10 seconds and rinse with water ensuring that all soap is rinsed away. To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue. DO NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA), or any exfoliants.
Days 1-7 Moisturize
Apply a cream aftercare with a cotton swab and spread it across the treated area. Be sure not to over-apply as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The cream should be barely noticeable on the skin. Never put the ointment on a wet or damp tattoo.
Just think of: A – W – M which stands for Absolutely Wonderful Make-up or better yet, Absorb, Wash, Moisturize!
AWM should have you covered, but here are some extra tips to help with a smooth and easy recovery:
Important Reminders
- Use a fresh pillowcase
- Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. Picking can cause scarring or loss of color
- No facials, botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks
- Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for one week
- Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after procedure. Wear a hat when outdoors.
- Avoid heavy sweating and long hot showers for the first 10 days.
- Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days
- Avoid swimming, lakes, hot tubs for the first 10 days
- Avoid topical makeup including sunscreen on the area
- DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area.
Important note about showering: Limit your showers to 5 minutes so you do not create too much steam. Keep your face/procedure out of the water while you wash your body, then, at the end of your shower, wash your hair. Your face should only be getting wet at the very last end of the shower. Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area.
Remember, with the proper prep and aftercare routine you will have much better results with your microblading procedure. Don’t forget your new favourite acronym: AWM – Absorb, Wash, Moisturize!

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Feather Touch / Microblading Brows?
Microblading is a technique where fine lines are scratched into the surface of the skin, and pigment embedded. We create your brow strand by strand using lifelike strokes applied directly onto the skin. The treatment replaces eyebrow pencils, and assures perfectly shaped and balanced brows all day, everyday. The strokes accurately replicate hair (as in a brow or hairline). Results can last from six to 18 months, depending on a variety of factors such as colour of pigment, skin type and lifestyle.
What is Hybrid Brows?
This service offers a combination of microblading hair strokes and shading. It is perfect for clients with oily skin, or those who desire more density than microblading alone.
An 6 week touch-up is required after your initial session for optimal results. Please note the touch up service fee is not included in the initial service price and payable at the time of your 6 week touch up.
What is Ombré Powder Brows?
The Ombré Powder Brows technique creates beautifully pixelated brows with a machine and is ideal for clients who like more filled in brows. This service is great for clients of all skin types.
An 6 week touch-up is required after your initial session to complete the process for optimal results
What is Nano Brows?
Nano Brows is a “higher quality” version of microblading. Ruby uses a single-needle device, the nano needle machine, which works like a tattoo machine, but uses an extremely fine needle to inject pigments into the epidermis. Ruby’s signature nano machine hair stroke technique is the ultimate luxury brow service. This premier service provides all the benefits of microblading, but with much less trauma to the skin. You’ll receive longer lasting results and better colour retention than Microblading typically up to two plus years after the initial touch up is complete. It’s suitable for all skin type.
You can add shading for $50 at your appointment.
Note: if you have sun damaged skin, Ombré Powder Brows will be your only option.
How long does the result last?
For brows, up to 12-18 months. For lips, one to two years. For eyeliner, three to five years. Hair colour, skin type, after-care and lifestyle also affect longevity of the results. Occasional touch-ups are a way to refresh the results. Done correctly, the treatments do not change colour and fade naturally away with time. For areas such as brows, this allows future flexibility with shape, as standards of beauty change. Please note even if not visible to the eye, there will always be vestigial pigment permanently embedded in the skin.
Is it painful?
We use effective numbing creams that are FDA approved. On a scale of 1 to 10 with “1” being no discomfort, clients often experience between a 2 and 3 with the treatment. Other factors such as menstrual cycles also affect the level of sensitivity.
Is it safe?
All our pigments are cosmetic grade, meaning that they are sterilized and purified for cosmetic use. The ingredients used have been approved by the FDA for cosmetic use. Be wary of products that have not met safety standards, tools are single-use and discarded after the treatment.
What happens during a consultation?
Brow hair grade and colour is analysed, and the desired shape is drawn on with a specialised pencil. We will draw each strand to create a symmetrical, natural-looking brow that is custom-made for your bone structure, giving you the chance to see how dramatically new brows change your face. Once you are satisfied with the shape and thickness, the therapist consults with you on colour – we mix and match with the hue to ensure we get a shade that is closest to your natural hair colour. We will also discuss the procedure, the after-care, how long it takes the skin to heal, and how to ensure the best results. Consultations at Em Beauté are always free with no obligation to proceed with the treatment.
What happens during the treatment?
The technician will create your brow by hand. A special tool is used to make small, hair-shaped incisions in the skin underneath the brow — this technique is known as Microblading. The shallow cuts are filled with highest grade pharmaceutical pigments selected to match or darken arches. The treatment takes about two hours, with enough time to assess each step of the way.
What is the recovery time?
There is no downtime, however the brow will take about one week to fully heal. The brow will soften in colour by up to 40-50%. During this period, after-care procedures should be carefully followed.
What is the Touch Up Session?
The Perfecting Session, done within 6-8 weeks of the initial treatment, is extremely important to ensure perfect results. We use this session to set the shape and colour, and make any small adjustments if needed.
Other FAQs for Brow Tattoo
Should I do botox before or after brow Tattoo?
Botox should be done after Microblading. Your doctor will be able to determine where to place Botox injections without altering the brow position. Should you decide to cease Botox treatments, brows will settle at original balanced position.
Can I have a chemical peel or laser treatment before?
Please avoid chemical peels or laser treatments at least four weeks before Microblading. These treatments can make your skin thinner and more sensitive, resulting in more bleeding which can affect colour retention. Wait four weeks after Microblading before doing chemical peels and laser treatments to allow the brow to fully heal.
Should I tint my eyebrows before?
This is not necessary. Your brow will also be darker than usual immediately after the treatment.
Should I colour my hair before?
Yes, so we can match your brow to your hair colour. However it is important to let your Specialist know your original/true hair colour, as this information and your skin tone, will help them create the brow colour that is the best match.
Should I shape my brows before?
Brow shaping is part of our treatment. When you go for brow shaping maintenance after Brow Tattoo, request that your therapist follow your existing brow shape.
Can I have a facial before?
Please avoid facials at least 2 weeks before Microblading. Some intensive facial treatments can make your skin thinner and more sensitive, resulting in more bleeding which cna affect colour retention. Wait two weeks after Brow Tattoo before doing facials, to allow the brow to fully heal.
Can I go tanning before?
Yes, but please let your Specialist know your original/true skin colour (e.g. show them a picture or patch of skin that is not tanned), as we will need this information to create the colour that is the best match, and ensure results look natural after your tan fades.
I am planning to have brow implants in addition to Brow Tattoo, when should I do this?
Do the brow implants first, and then Tattoo. We will perfect the brow shape.
Additional FAQs for Eyeliner Perfection
Can I have Lash Extensions During Eyeliner Treatment?
No, we ask you to please remove any lash extensions before treatment. Lash extensions do not allow us to properly apply pigment to the lash line, resulting in uneven eyeliner. Please also wait for two weeks until eyeliner is completely healed before applying lash extensions again.
Can I do a lash perm before the eyeliner treatment?
Wait until after the treatment before doing a lash perm. The eyeliner treatment may affect the direction of your lash curl as we need to get close to the lash line.
Can I do a lash tint before the eyeliner treatment?
Please do any lash tinting at least two weeks before or two weeks after the treatment.
What if I have eye surgery?
Please wait at least three months after eye surgery before doing the Eyeliner treatment, to ensure your eye is completely healed. We also suggest waiting three months after Eyeliner treatment if your surgery is for a later date.
Additional FAQs for True Lip Colour
Should I do Lip Injections/Augmentation before or after the true lip colour treatment?
Lip injections should be done after the True Lip Colour treatment. Your doctor will be able to determine where to place the injections without altering the overall lip shape that we created. Should you decide to cease injection treatments, lips will settle at original balanced position. (Please note however that in a few cases lip injections result in blisters that might affect lip colour, necessitating a touch up).
